Karen’s Kitchen Cares
Karen has always believed in giving back to the community she grew up in. For the past 20+ years, Karen has been giving back through her program called “Karen’s Kitchen Cares”.
As the owner of Karen’s Kitchen & Catering, Karen Erinfolami understands the impact a good plate of food can have on someone. Karen constantly donates food to the Transitions Homeless Shelter in Columbia South Carolina, The Salvation Army, and will frequent local parks to feed the homeless as well.
Karen also donates clothes, shoes, and coats to the homeless. During the school year, she donates school supplies to the surrounding areas.
Karen loves giving back to the community that inspired her to follow her dreams of being a business owner. She started an annual, and free, Thanksgiving dinner for the community who helped her grow up to be the inspirational leader she is today. This annual event provides free meals to the residents in assisted living facilities, health care workers, military personnel, and all first responders. This event is also open to anyone in the community who has a hard time providing a Thanksgiving dinner. This yearly event is held on Thanksgiving Day. It is on its 6th year and counting.
Karen continues to give back to her community by making a 10% donation to local schools and The United Ways of the Midlands. She also does counseling and mentoring of young kids in the community; as well as aspiring new business owners to reach for the stars.
There is no doubt that giving back to the community is part of Karen’s way of life and an integral part of who she is.
